Calgarians know all to well that they can expect mother nature to bring hail down anytime during the warm summer months of June through September.  According to Environment Canada, Alberta usually gets around 14 severe storms every summer.  On July 12, 2010  Calgarians once again saw the devastation that a few minutes of hail can cause.  

Does this picture look familiar?  This was taken from the Millrise Condo Fire in South West Calgary in March 2010.  Hundreds of people had to flee their units as the fire quickly engulfed thier condo complex.  Thankfully many residents had condo insurance.  Unfortunately though, some residents were faced with the dreadful consequence of not buying insurnace as they were suddenly left homeless.
